• celebrities will really be like “i am non-binary” and people will just ignore it

  • gerard way will literally be like “i used to dress in women’s clothes at school and i really enjoyed it” “i don’t really identify with masculinity and i have considered myself to be a trans girl” “this self-insert character i created and portrayed in a series of music videos is a non-binary lesbian” and people will just be like “oh yeah gerard is a man, he’s male. definitely of a masculine gender”

  • janelle monae has come out as non-binary, publicly, in magazine interviews, TWICE now and ppl are like oh yeah! janelle is a woman. she’s female. 100% womyn

  • BILLIE JOE ARMSTRONG WILL LITERALLY WRITE A SONG ABOUT HOW HES BEEN CROSSDRESSING FROM A VERY YOUNG AGE AND WEAR THONGS ON STAGE AND SOMEONE WROTE “BILLIE JOE IS ACTUALLY A CUTE YOUNG LESBIAN” ON HIS ASS ONE TIME AND PEOPLE WILL BE LIKE WOW THAT SURE IS A MALE DAD

    The Story Of Hubris Quilting

    • It is two months ago
    • I am so fucking cursed and trying desperately to find crafts I can actually do while lying in bed with no brain and a -4 penalty to my dex mod
    • I am also just sort of rewatching Mob Psycho 100 on loop bc I am in love with it and it gives me Content without needing to expend much brain power
    • Important background information on me, Scribe: When I love a piece of media very much I feel a deep and abiding need to create some sort of wearable talisman about it.
    • Anyway, I am rewatching Season One for like the third time when I notice this shot in the opening:
    image
    • Haha, I think, that looks kind of like appliqué!
    • My brain, which is actively dying for want of a craft project, goes Oh?? Appliqué you say???
    • Oh man, I think, I bet I could sew that! And maybe some, like, objects from especially significant scenes! I could do it as the design on the back of a quilted vest; that would make a fun talisman!
    • (Had I stopped here it would have been a large but reasonable project. However, I am filled with hubris even when I also have the physical stamina of a cup of jello and the brain power of a particularly dim slug)
    • It's a shame there's probably no way I can quilt his aura, I think.
    • (This is a stupid thing to think because going "this is probably impossible" about a craft project is a surefire way to summon The Hubris)
    • No really, I think. There's no way I can quilt Mob's aura.
    • [Various McElroy voices] Unless . . .
    • . . .
    • I stare at psychic aura screencaps for many days.
    • I come to several emotional character revelations. I also come to the conclusion that what I want to do is, technically, possible.
    • To start, I'll use English Paper Piecing to sew together a bunch of tiny triangles into eight-part rosettes to recreate the 'spinning disc' effect of the aura
    image
    image
    • Then once I have enough of those, I'll remove the basting and the paper pieces, press them, and re-baste them to clamshells (making sure they're all in exactly the same orientation)
    image
    • And THEN I'll appliqué all those clamshells together into rows to make a solid piece of fabric
    image

(These are just laid out, not sewn down yet)

    • And then I'll tilt that fabric at like a 20-30 degree angle and finally I will have successfully quilted Kageyama Shigeo's psychic aura!
    • And that will be the background of my vest :)
    • After that, I'm going to teach myself needle-turn applique to decorate it with significant objects from every scene that's made me cry! (there are . . . many of them)

Anyway. This is the plan I came up with 864 tiny triangles ago and it's going great so far!

  • Update! I have sewn 1,200 tiny triangles into 150 rosettes, approximately half the total amount I need!! We are Making Progress!!

An expense of eight-part fabric rosettes in shades of blue, pink, and purple laid out in overlapping rowsALT
a series of eight-part fabric rosettes in shades of blue, pink, and purple. they are laid out in overlapping rows in a clamshell pattern, covering the top portion of a vest mockupALT
  • Update: 2,400 tiny triangles babyyyyyy!!

A spread of eight-part fabric rosettes in shades of pink, blue, and purpleALT

    Detail of blue rosettesALT

Now it is time to sew all the rosettes together and then do One Million Appliqué!

  • I have had the honor of working on two different comics projects with Don Hertzfeldt. But this is the story of my first interaction with the man.

  • I hate it when you’re reading smut and you can’t figure out what position they’re in.

  • Y’ALL NEED JESUS

  • Please stop reblogging this post

  • This post made my water break

  • In honor of my daughter’s first birthday next week, I’m sharing the post that made me laugh so hard that it broke my water.

  • WHAT

  • God, I love this accursed website.

  • Hey internet, the girl that was born from this post is 4 years old today (July 2 2021) also, the gif still makes me laugh. Happy Birthday, Marceline!!

  • happy 6th birthday marceline!!!

  • the commodification of friendship is the most annoying thing to come out of the internet in ages. like actually i love to break this to you but you're supposed to help your friends move even if it's hard work. or stay up with them when they're sad even if you're gonna lose sleep. you're supposed to listen to their fears and sorrows even if it means your own mind takes on a little bit of that weight. that's how you know that you care. they will drive you to the airport and then you will make them soup when they're sick. you're supposed to make small sacrifices for them and they are supposed to do that for you. and there's actually gonna be rough patches for both of you where the balance will be uneven and you will still be friends and it will not be unhealthy and they will not be abusive. life is not meant to be an endless prioritization of our own comfort if it was we would literally never get anywhere ever. jesus.

  • i will never understand the insane takes against having games be more accessible

  • “does every game NEED to be accessible to disabled people? 🤨” yeah, actually

  • also the pissing and shitting over difficulty settings. just play the game on the normal difficulty dumbass it’s not for you

  • Same with stuff like screen shake, particle effects, flashing/lightning effects: “But the game would look terrible without them!”

Then Just.... Don’t turn them off then, dickface...

Meanwhile, *having the option to turn them off* would greatly increase the number of people able to play the game.

  • I'm really sad that the Long Dark, which is one of my favorite games, added a new feature with flashing lights that causes seizures. They added a warning, but there's no option to turn it off.

  • While at this moment this measure can be considered symbolic (the policy it repeals was rendered unenforceable by the Supreme Court in 2015, just like for the rest of the US), it assures that if Obergefell is overturned, and same-sex marriage policy localizes, the Navajo Nation will still uphold marriage equality*

*there could end up being a fight with Arizona state government in that scenario, as tribal sovereignty vs state authority is constantly fought on an issue by issue basis.

  • I actively do not want to be attractive to cishet men. Or fatphobes. Or conservatives. Like I genuinely enjoy that I tend to not appeal to people like that but queer freaks enjoy me.

  • This is the horny queer freak blog. If you don't find my transness, weight, and body hair hot af then this is not the blog for you.
